Timothy Weah was unveiled as a Celtic player on Tuesday. The 18-year-old has joined on a six-month loan from PSG.

An American international, Weah is the son of AC Milan and PSG legend George Weah, who is also the current president of Liberia.

Speaking to the Scottish Sun, Weah said that he did not ask the advice of PSG teammate Neymar regarding the move to Scotland but two other Paris dressing room members, Thomas Meunier and Dani Alves, advised him that joining Celtic was the right decision.
Among his new teammates will be a recent former PSG player, Odsonne Edouard. The 20-year-old joined Celtic on a season-long loan last season and during the summer signed permanently at Parkhead.

Weah told Celtic TV that after a recent visit to the club, Edouard was eager to know if he would be making the move.

"It's funny because the day I had the visit, he DM'ed me on Instagram and he was like, 'So bro, are you coming, are you coming?'

"I'm like, 'Yeah, I had a meeting with the gaffer and I'm really loving the team and really loving the club and I'm going to come here.'

"He saw me today in the locker room, we were joking, laughing and catching up.

"It's great to see him again and it's great seeing how he has progressed and seeing his development at the club and, hopefully, I can do the same."

Celtic also announced the signing of Ivory Coast striker Vakoun Issouf Bayo from Slovakian club Dunajska Streda on Tuesday.
